MENTALITY

Curious, watchful and energetic. Protecting against the family, waiting in the deal with strangers and may therefore seem a little reserved. The breed's shepherd background makes it suitable for family dogs in active people. In addition, in its home country, it makes use of a service dog in police and military and as a blind dog.

ACTIVITY LEVEL AND HANDLERADIUS

Anxious and active, especially while young. No significant tendency for hunting trips or to roam, although it can work independently. Persistent and willing to accept instructions from the driver whom it is very affectionate with.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR LEARNING AND HANDLING

The breed is fast perceptive, very educational and laborious, but it is bored with many repetitions. Train varied and fast-paced with much praise and reward, and do not let the dog forget who decides. Avoid stressful ball and fence cupboards.

NEED

A powerful muscular dog with a considerable need for physical exercise next to a good social life with ample mental stimulation and employment and good contact with the owner.

SKIN AND CARE

The outer surface is medium, water repellent, somewhat rough and adjacent. The undercoat is dense and fine and insulates well against both cold and heat. Fur care is affordable. A thorough weekly breakthrough prevents the worst felling, but something comes there anyway.

ORIGIN

The White Shepherd Dog is originally a color variant of the Shepherd Dog. It was known already when its targeted breeding began in the late 1800s. The color was never recognized in Germany, but especially in Canada and the United States, the variety of color variants continued, which has now been approved as an independent breed in many countries. The White Shepherd Dog is used in North America for the same tasks as the Shepherd Dog, but is also bred to a large extent as a company dog and as a sports and competition dog.
